Terrific stuff. Unmistakably Quasi in flavour with hints of Babybird - but also, instrumentally, like listening to a Beach Boys 45 played at 33 (while taking Mogadon!). It’s not ‘sing-along’ stuff and yet it’s highly listenable - such as ‘From a park bench at the edge of the abyss’ where Sam reminds us that: “...Love is not a chore - it’s not a job...”. Dark and amusing in equal measure. This album is most certainly not a chore! Get it while you can.

Sure, maybe my ears are ruined by the loudness wars, but it's hard to believe that this mix is the sound anyone was looking for. Every element sounds buried and distant to me, which is a shame since the songs are top-notch. Let's have a 13-month anniversary remix, eh? raeforr

So glad to have a new No. 2 album after so long! I was beginning to think I wouldn't hear anymore songs from them, and then they come out with an album of bangers. So good! unaccomplin
